Goodbye 1st Trimester, Hello 2nd

Well, I am officially entering the 2nd trimester!!! I’m 13 weeks today. I am at the 12 lb mark now. I broke out the bin of maternity clothes this week and went through them. I don't have to wear them all the time, only if I have to go out in public. At home, or running errands, I can wear sweats, or drawstring and get away with it, but if I have to actually “get dressed” I have to resort to maternity clothes, more so for the comfort than the fit. I never made it to the pilates class last week. I got busy busy with the holiday rush. So, maybe in the new year, as I don’t see myself going to the gym between Christmas and New Years…unless I can convince Chris..we’ll see. We have a lot to do to get ready for moving the rooms around. Brayden is getting his big boy room so we can re-use the nursery, although we may have to paint it pink! On to big events: I felt the baby move this week. Exciting!!!! We are almost to Christmas, and then Chris’ birthday, followed by new years. We are going out tonight to celebrate Chris’ birthday, and Kaylee is spending the night with Grams, so we only have 1 kid tonight…that feels so weird.

12 weeks

Well, we had our U/S on Thursday. Everything looked good and we got to see the little peanut and hear the heartbeat. Then, later that day, my friend Colleen did an U/S at her office (she is in sales for a company who makes U/S equipment, among other things) and she tried to see the gender. It looked like girl parts, but if she turned the wand a different way, it looked kind of like boy parts, but not like Brayden’s did. She said it could be swollen labia, but she wouldn't make a "for sure" call. I am guessing GIRL, just because of how good I feel and how I am carrying. I was totally miserable with him. I am about to have to move into maternity clothes. I am fine in most clothing as long as I don’t have to dress up, but if I have to put on anything except drawstring pants, and a t-shirt, I am screwed. It’s too cold to wear dresses, or I would go that route. I have a few dresses that have some breathing room in them and are super cute, but it’s too cold here. I passed the 10 lb mark this week. Ugh. It will probably be another 47lb pregnancy again, but hopefully the breastfeeding will help with some of that. I found a pilates class that I am gonna try out this week. Christmas celebration is Saturday with my family and Tuesday with Chris’ family. I wanted to make it to Christmas without breaking out the maternity clothes, but I am officially in my 2nd trimester next Monday, so I may wear my first outfit to Christmas day with the Lynch’s, since it’s on Tuesday.

11 weeks

Well, I still weigh the same, so I guess I had a decent week. I still haven’t crossed the 10 lb mark yet, although I am getting close. I’m 11 weeks today. We get our next U/S on Thursday and I am excited! This one measures the nuchal folds in the back of the neck to check for downs syndrome. I haven’t really felt pregnant recently, so I need the confirmation of seeing our little bean. 2 more weeks to go until the 1st trimester is over!!! That’s my next big milestone!

10 weeks

Today, I am 10 weeks. This is the first mile stone for pregnancy. The baby is actually a fetus now, and not just an embryo. Arms, legs, and most major organs are developed. I have gained another lb and a half. I have wanted carbs all week long, and I have eaten them, and enjoyed them!!! I only worked out 2 times too. I really need to get caught up on bows so I can go to the gym at night. My house has been neglected too. I am just so tired, I only want to sleep and eat. 3 more weeks until the 1st trimester is over and I should get more energy. I took my 2 month picture on Thursday, the 29th. It was not really too obvious, but when I woke up on Saturday, I had grown, almost overnight. My 14 jeans are too tight to be comfortable. I can still button them and zip them, but they are snug. With Brayden, I was pulling out the maternity clothes by now and obviously showing. I just look fat right now, not pregnant. I think it’s a girl, because my hips and butt are getting big, but not so much out in front like I was with Brayden. Just wide.
